FINALLY :D

People that actually know how to work with 8-bit and 16-bit sounds. :3
This really makes me think Henry Homesweet! and Anamanaguchi had a two children, and they were you.
Anyways. I love it :D Reminds me of some of the music from a Batman game for the Gamegear xD

Not what I expected.

I think you could do much better than this. I was hoping for actual dubstep not to be harsh or anything. I do like the piano though haha.
I was hoping that you'd have at least one drop and EPIC bass. This...just doesn't feel right to me o.o But It's decent otherwise sooo.

Omega-Ravager responds:

Well, this is more a WIP than anything, I plan on extending it out and adding some brutal bass.

Thanks for the review, if you want something with a bit more of a dubstep feel check out "The Composer"

Thanks for stopping in,

Yeahh...no.

Only 3 stars. I swear to God I've never given this low before. I completely agree with SysRq00- I see no creativity in this I could see it being rolled right off of the OST of the actual game. That isn't a /techno/ sound, nor would it even belong in the Techno category. As for what americanidiot2f said, many techno artists use this sound- the Black Mages (if you can count them) and several others here on Newgrounds.

A warrior >:D

Great piece in/of itself. Would you be able to record a piano track for me? I like piano more than strings/synth. :P
Anyways. I could definitely see the story play out. In the beginning, the warrior is getting hype and cheer from a crowd, or leaving a castle or town. I can see him(her) facing what he fears to slay the most- himself. You have an epic piece from :50 - 2:19; I literally see him battling and staring down what he has to face. And at the end, the beast has won. He is over- they are finished.
Only thing to work on here would be some of the transitions; some are fast and abrupt while others take a while to get to.

Cuzone responds:

Yes sir, private message me and we can talk about the piano track you asked for. Do you play?

I was hoping..

I was hoping this would be a medley on the piano, not a collection of jingles played as MIDIs. But for what it's worth, it's great haha. I could see this working on some Sonic flashes. The only thing I'd say is about the bass- it's electronic, and sometimes it continues after the piano is done and it sounds awkward o:

Other than that one detail, I liked the collections.
I was(and still do) hoping that this would be an actual piano though :<

DrMackFoxx responds:

Well, glad to hear you liked this collection, anyway. :) Seemed like a better idea to compile all the jingles and short themes from Sonic 1 into one file instead of ending up with 9 different submissions. The purpose of this track really is more utilitarian than anything else. Granted, if you search for "Sonic Jingles" in the Audio Portal, this is currently the only track that will be displayed in your search results. Kinda gives you an idea of how often these jingles are redone. ^_^;

As for the bass, you do have a good point. While the bass is supposed to trail off for the Title Screen and Ending Scene, it should not have for some of these other short tunes. Oh, well...

I also must say that, although I can play the piano myself a bit, I don't have access to real instruments or good recording equipment. So, my works are going to have to be MIDI-based. In fact, tracks made only with real instruments are not very common in the Audio Portal. Some MIDI sound sets are very, very good.

Sorry this was not quite what you were looking for. May I recommend my tune "Sonic 1- Special Zone Piano"? Probably more along the lines of what you were expecting from this track.

At any rate, thank you very much for the review. I appreciate it. :)

...the..bass..

Dubstep is all about the bass, yes?
Well, my speakers weren't blasting. The bass stayed the same throughout the entire thing D: There was no drop, no kick, nothing :< Add a deeper and harsher bassline.
Also, the main melody seemed a little scattered :<

For just messing around, nice, I guess? It was just awkward to listen to.

MMMMMOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRR BASSSSSSSS

I think it's decent. Needs much more oomph to the bass though. MOAR bass is good. I want my speakers blasting. The melody is nice but took a little while to get to it. I got a little bored at the beginning, but then I got settled and liked it.

The only reason

the ONLY reason I'm not a fan of this, is because... IT NEEDS MOAR BASSSS.
There was no major drop that I noticed o.o
No kick, nothing.

Lower the bass, and you got an epic track.

Where's my Drop? :<

The synth pad got a little boring and trancey in my mind. It's soothing yeah, but I was looking forward to the drop. But once it got there, I loved it xD

Either pick it up a bit, or add a drop earlier and then let it rest again till the last one. :3

dietsnapple135 responds:

Sometimes you just gotta wait 55 seconds for your drop. This isn't brostep, and I like giving real intros. Sorry if you find the wait that bad, but I promise, the buildup would be less effective if it didn't have any substance.

Aye x.x

I like it, but I don't like some of the leads used. The bass was excellent, of course xD a little high for me, but it wasn't bad. I just didn't like the brass sounding lads. :<

But over all, a great track and great thought put into this.
